Getting more people walking
CLIENT: THE LAND TRUST
The Land Trust asked us to research and write a series of walking guides for their National Walking Month campaign. We spoke to local communities and loved finding out about all the hidden walking routes and green spaces people enjoy.
The Land Trust exists to ensure that green spaces are protected and maintained for the benefit of local communities and the environment.
The context
The Land Trust is a charity that is committed to the long term sustainable management of open space for community benefit. The charity owns and manages public open spaces, such as country parks, nature reserves, and woodlands.
The challenge
As part of their National Walking Month campaign, The Land Trust wanted to uncover all the hidden walking routes that local communities enjoy - linked to Land Trust sites. The walking guides were used to raise awareness of the Land Trust sites that people could enjoy visiting, and to encourage more people to dig out their walking shoes during National Walking Month.
What we did
We worked with The Land Trust to:
Speak to local communities across the country to research hidden walking routes, and identify all the things about each site that made it so special, whether that’s a particularly accessible route, a child-friendly location, or an impressive spot to stop for a picnic
Develop the narrative for a series of campaign assets for the charity’s National Walking Month campaign, to highlight the benefits of each location and ‘insider tips’ about each walking route from local communities
Getting more people walking and benefiting from the vibrant green spaces on their doorstep.
