Creating a partnership for mental health

ALTRAD X CALM

When global industrial leaders Altrad told us they want to make a meaningful difference to changing the industry statistics around mental health, we set out to build links with leading charities capable of matching our client’s ambition. The result is a transformational partnership we are very proud to have created.

We developed an ambitious partnership between Altrad and CALM, to make mental health as visible as physical health in the industrial sector.

The context

In an industry where physical safety is paramount, conversations around mental health often remain unseen. Altrad, a global leader in industrial services, recognised this imbalance and asked us to help them challenge it.

What we did

We advised Altrad that the right charity partnership would amplify the company’s plans, to make mental health as visible as physical safety.

We then set out building links with national charities capable of matching our client’s ambition, expertise, and scale.

This was the first time Altrad had formed a charity partnership on this scale; we helped by making the right introductions and negotiating what the partnership would look like between the two organisations, to ensure everyone felt confident.

The difference we made

Altrad and CALM are now working together to build confidence, awareness, and support around mental health. Because no one should feel invisible when they’re struggling, and no one should have to face their struggles alone.

The partnership was launched in October 2025, to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Day, with a film that depicts an Altrad colleague seeking support for his mental health. The film was created by our partners in this project, Future, with our input.

Here is what Altrad had to say about our support

“Really Good Things played a vital role in helping us get our charity partnership off the ground. From the very beginning, they took the time to understand our values and what we were hoping to achieve — helping us identify the right charity partner, facilitating introductions, and supporting early planning discussions to ensure the partnership could deliver real impact.

Partnering with CALM is particularly crucial for our industry, where mental health challenges are often hidden but widespread. This partnership gives us a powerful platform to raise awareness, open up conversations, and show our people that support is out there — and that it’s okay to speak up and seek help.

We’re so grateful for the support of Really Good Things in making this happen.” Altrad

“We’re hugely grateful for Really Good Things' backing in helping us build this really important partnership and making it easier for people to reach out when they need it most.”
